Throughout this past season, the Boston College Eagles football team has had their ups and downs. When the team was on their high, the team’s head coach, Steve Addazio was not even a topic of discussion. However, when they lost, people began to question his coaching skills.  The following is a list of 10 reasons why Addazio deserves to remain at the helm at BC:

  1. Steve Addazio was a starter on the Central Connecticut State University team during his four-year college career.
  2. Addazio also earned a spot to try out for the New England Patriots team.
  3. The Boston Eagles are in the top 4 for the whole ACC Atlantic Coast Division.
  4. There was an enormous amount of backlash against Addazio after losing against Wake Forest, despite WF being 5 and 0 and on top of the ACC Atlantic Coast Division.
  5. Addazio has brought the Eagles to 5 Bowls since 2013.
  6. Addazio, in 2016, brought the BC Eagles to a Bowl victory against the Maryland Terrapins during the Quick Lane Bowl.
  7. He has experience coaching – he spent two years as head coach at Temple University in Philadelphia.
  8. He has brought a combined 54 wins to both Temple and Boston College in just the past 9 years.
  9. He is overall a good person and is able to connect to the team players. He also raised 3 children with his wife, which makes him a family man.
  10. This past weekend, after the loss against WF, people did not even think to evaluate the players’ skills. However, those same individuals were quick to blame Addazio.
