Turkey Day 2017: Matchup Preview

Jack Mahoney, Junior Contributor

The Cohasset High football team will round out their season this Thursday with the annual Thanksgiving Day game vs. rival Hull High School. Both the Pirates and the Skippers enter the contest with a record of 5-5. The Skips look to extend their winning streak on Thanksgiving, winning the last seven matchups on turkey day.

Cohasset will really turn to their offensive side of the ball in order to take control of this game. Senior running back Noah Froio is just 20 yards shy of rushing for 1,000 yards on the season after a very solid performance against Case High School two weeks ago rushing for 117 yards on 24 carries. If the weather cooperates, junior Quarterback Matt Lund should be able to find his big targets such as seniors David Burke, Kyle Mcfetridge, Will Thomas, and juniors Cliff Ward and Mark Mahoney on big gains through the air. Defensively, Cohasset will turn towards linebackers Cal Osten, Sam Sullivan, and Jake Sullivan along with Defensive ends Will Thomas and Jackson Fitzgerald in order to contain Christian Oliveri and Hull’s offense.

Come out Thursday morning at 10 am at Hull High School to support the boys!!! GO SKIPPERS!
